CeLAN Announced Smart Switch Family
(Hsinchu, Taiwan ¡V Jan. 15, 2002) CeLAN Technology, Inc. ("CeLAN"), a computer networking equipment provider based in Hsinchu, Taiwan, today announced a series of switching hubs with simple management functions. The product family CeLAN introduced includes 5-port, 8-port, 16-port and 24-port switching hubs. Among them, Switch-5 and Switch-8 are 5 and 8-port Nway Fast Ethernet switches with auto-sense 10/100M bandwidth and half/full duplex modes. With plastic cases, external power supply and indicator panel, both models are cost-effective plug-and-play device which are ideal for SOHO applications. For other 8-port models, CeLAN also provides EtherSW 0800A, EtherSW 0800V, and EtherSW 0800VF. EtherSW 0800A is also a cost-effective model like Switch-8 but with metal case. EtherSW 0800V and EtherSW 0800VF are 8-port 10/100Mbps Nway switching hub with VLAN and QoS (Quality of Service) functions. Both can auto-detect 10/100Mbps, Half/Full duplex and MDI/MDI-X of the connecting devices. User can set the switch to No VLAN or Concentration VLAN modes via a switch on the front panel. If Concentration VLAN mode is on, every port belongs to one independent VLAN group and shares the uplink port for network access. Four queues are supported for QoS function and up to 1522 bytes packet length is supported. For EtherSW 0800VF, there is a port with fiber-optic connection, which can support single-mode or multi-mode transceivers. As for 16 and 24-port high-end switches, CeLAN provide EtherSW 1600A/EtherSW 2400A as base models, EtherSW 1600V/EtherSW2400V with per-port VLAN setting function, EtherSW 1600VF/EtherSW 2400VF with VLAN and one fiber uplink port, EtherSW 1600VFM/EtherSW 2400VFM with VLAN/fiber/console management functions. User can configure the switches for VLAN and Trunking from the console management port on the panel. All the switches are designed with CeLAN's hardware/software expertise.
