1.Verify the network cable first.
- The cable length is 100 meters max. (Cat.3 or Cat.5)
- Try another good cable.
2. Verify the connection port of the Hub.
- Try another port of the Hub.
< Case [ A ] >
- If straight-through cables (not crossover cables) are used, please
use the MDI-X ports of Hub. The MDI (Uplink) port is for Hub-to-Hub
connection.
- If the last MDI-X port (Port 5 of EHUB-5A, Port 8 of EHUB-8A, Port
16 of EHUB-16A) is used, do not use the MDI (Uplink) port at the same
time because they share the same components of the hub.
< Case [ B ] >
- Computer-to-Hub connection please use MDI-X ports. Hub-to-Hub/Switch
connection can be done from the MDI (Uplink) port to the MDI-X port
of another hub with straight-through cables.
- If the MDI (Uplink) port is used, do not use the last MDI-X port
(Port 5 of EHUB-5A, Port 8 of EHUB-8A, Port 16 of EHUB-16A) at the
same time because they share the same components of the hub.
3. Hub cascading
- Cascading 10Mbps Hubs together, maximum 4 units is allowed.
4. Verify the function of the computer.
- Try the connection on another computer that is no problem.
- Verify the network adapter and network configuration of the computer.
5.Verify the Hub function.
- Check the power input of the hub by the Power LED. If fail, try
another power adapter.
- Try another Hub.
6. If RG-58 cable (on BNC port) is used on EHUB-9A / EHUB-16A,
- Check every connector on this RG-58 cable. Any problem happening
on cable may cause all the computers connected on the cable fail to
work on network.
- You can terminate part of the cable segments to find the problem.
[Notes:] You can diagnosis the network problem with the LED of the
Hub.
1. Power : Indicates the power input of the Hub.
2. Link : Indicates a valid network connection.
3. Act : Indicates network traffic on the port. On some models, Link
and Act uses the same indicators. "ON" means Link and "Flashing" means
Act.
4. Col : Indicates packets collision happen. Only EHUB-9A and EHUB-16A
have this indicator. Flashing of Col. Is the normal operation of Ethernet.
But if the Col. Is flashing very busy, the loading of the network
may be very heavy.
